Capita Hartshead offers free data checks to all pension schemes

Capita Hartshead has announced that it will release DatA+ essentials, an upgraded data integrity checking service focused on the common tests detailed in the consultation paper issued by the Pensions Regulator on record keeping and measuring members’ data. The service will be available free of charge to any pension scheme that wishes to use it and is in support of the principles outlined in the paper.

The service will include a number of tests which are designed to help trustees meet the targets outlined by the Regulator and will include a ‘Data Validation Certificate’ that summarises a scheme’s data quality rating.

Stuart Merry who spearheads the DatA+ project at Capita Hartshead, commented: “We fully support the Regulator’s strengthened approach to improving record keeping across the industry. We want to provide our clients with the reassurances that they need regarding the data that we manage on their behalf. We also want to make this service accessible to non-administration clients and recognise that most trustees are facing budgetary constraints, hence our decision to offer this service free of charge.”

He went on to say: “The beauty of the DatA+ essentials service is that we can accept data from any pensions administration platform, so we can make this service available to every trustee board that wishes to use it. DatA+ is suitable in a number of different scenarios. For example it is ideal for trustees who are confident that their data is robust and are looking for simple, independent, validation of their data. It will also suit those trustees who do not yet have a good feel for the quality of their data and need a snapshot so that they can assess the situation and plan how to sort out any problems.”

Using a specialist team, Capita Hartshead has a comprehensive data integrity testing and cleansing service which aims to work with trustees to help them understand and, where required, improve the quality of their member records.
