Authorised Payments Regulations
Jun 2009 Mark RiordanAfter a year long delay, new regulations which widen the scope for authorised payments have finally been laid before Parliament. The Registered Pension Schemes (Authorised Payments) Regulations 2009 came into force from 1 June 2009 and will prevent penal tax charges arising from commutation payments and pensions or lump sums paid in error.
PADA response to ‘securing a retirement income’

The original consultation, published in December 2008, sought views on key proposals concerning the way in which personal accounts scheme members will access their benefits.
PADA launches investment discussion paper
Jun 2009 Rachel McAllisterThe Personal Accounts Delivery Authority (PADA) will be responsible for making recommendations to the scheme’s Trustee Corporation about the most suitable investment approach to improve members’ income in retirement. The purpose of the discussion paper is to draw on good practice and expertise from across the pension and investment industries on the most appropriate approach, and crucially how this can be delivered at a low charge.
Reductions to pensions in payment for schemes in wind up
