Further to the Government’s response earlier this year to the Parliamentary Ombudsman’s findings in 2008 (see February 2009’s Pensions Express), a paper has been published by an independent adviser to HM Treasury, Sir John Chadwick, which sets out proposals for setting up a compensation framework to benefit those affected by the collapse of Equitable Life.
